Here at EASYFIX we recently completed a fundraiser in honour of our friend and long-standing Sales Director, PJ Burke’s late wife Claire. The staff at EASYFIX wanted to come together to support their colleague PJ and his family, while paying tribute to the wonderful lady that Claire was. We decided to take part in Movember whilst raising funds for the very worthy cause, Galway Hospice.
Fundraising began on November 10th, the Razors were put away and Moustaches began to grow. Over 30 moustaches were grown by the male staff of EASYFIX along with extended family and friends of the Burke Family. Members of Claire’s family took part in Half Marathon’s with more setting personal targets to Run and Cycle throughout the month.
Michael Earls Managing Director, EASYFIX spoke – “this has been a very difficult year for the Burke family and EASYFIX wanted to do something special in the name of Claire who has been a big part of the EASYFIX family since the company was founded 25 years ago.”
With a target of originally €5,000 it wasn’t long before we realised this was going to be bigger than anticipated. There was a tremendous effort made by all to raise as much as we could for Galway Hospice. Over the course of four weeks, we were delighted to have raised a total of €40,100 for this wonderful charity!
The Galway Hospice is a very worthy charity and close to so many people’s hearts. Hospice offer compassionate palliative care to patients and their families across the Galway, Mayo and Roscommon areas. The money raised will go directly to ensuring patients in palliative care receive the best level of care they deserve. To read up more on the Galway Hospice Charity and what they do, click here.
We are very proud of this fundraiser in memory of our wonderful friend, Claire Burke. We are delighted with the amount of support we received over the four weeks of fundraising. Thank you to everyone who supported us in our fundraising efforts.
To conclude a message from PJ Burke, Sales Director:
As a family we were delighted at EASYFIX’S initiative in organising the Movember fundraiser. We are so proud that it was done in Claire’s memory and honour. The amount of money raised is a testament to the regard in which she was held by family, friends, colleagues and the wider public. We know that the funds raised of €40,100 will help in some way with the great work undertaken by the Galway Hospice, a very worthy recipient
