The Galway Races is Ireland’s largest horse racing festival with a rich heritage stretching back over 149 years. There are fifty-two races over seven days, with each day offering a minimum prize fund of €100,000 for the feature race.

The opening day of this years’ festival Monday 30th July will include a special treat for racegoers with a live performance in the parade ring! Visitors are advised to arrive early and gather their ‘Tribe’ around the parade ring.

The race course will mark its 149th year with the launch of the new Wilson Lynch Champagne and Tote building. The new €6 million development will offer racegoers modern stylish and comfortable facilities with a betting hall and coffee dock on the ground floor as well as a champagne bar and grand piano on the upper floor.

EASYFIX

Since 2010, EASYFIX Hurdles and Racecourse Chase Fences have been used at Galway Racecourse. The EASYFIX fences were designed in-house by the product development team. Manufactured from artificial components they are extremely durable, easy to install and maintenance free. The parade ring at Galway racecourse has also been fitted with EASYFIX max grip matting. The rubber matting is very comfortable underfoot and creates an extremely safe environment, for horses.
